So this was the shortest day on-shore during the entire cruise vacation at just a bit over 5 and a half hours.
We spent the majority of our time in Slovenia underneath it in the Prodjama cave. This is a very large cave system and the amount of infrastructure put in place to support visitors is quite impressive.
First off the grounds around the cave entrance are well built with a large hotel and some shopping and restuatants around. Once you enter the cave (very promptly via the times entry system) you board an electric train that wizzes you past some neat but comparatively less interesting cave bits into an area deep underground where you start your walking.
Unlike yesterday the cave system and individual rooms are quite vast. They are well lit and the path is paved flat the entire way. No stairs.
Because we had a boat to catch thw pace was quick. We could have spent twice the time in thw cabes that we did, but with struggling old people in tow the guides pushed us out of the cave and onto the bus for a photo stop at prodjama castle before the drive back to the boat.
